The Curatorial Bar

The artwork’s identity at a glance.

On every photograph page, the ARTFreeLife top bar is more than a navigation element: it is the editorial control centre of the artwork.

Essential in appearance, it brings together the author’s identity, viewing tools, visibility data and the community’s principal forms of participation within a single, compact line.

Identity and tools

Everything needed to understand and share the work

On the left, the main menu provides access to the platform’s principal areas: the personal page, Latest Publications, Featured Photos, ART Gallery, voting, most-viewed works, live activity, ranking, covers, forum, museum and guidelines.

Beside the menu, the photographer’s name links directly to the author profile, while the information control opens the description associated with the image.

The bar also provides access to photograph submission and to the artwork’s social cover: an image created to extend the work’s circulation across social channels and strengthen its recognition beyond the platform.

Critical attention

Curator Notes

Curator Notes indicate the number of curatorial contributions or annotations received by the photograph. They are not merely a comment count: they reveal the level of critical attention that has developed around the work.

The connected life of an image Estimated Visits GOOGLE ANALYTICS + ARTFreeLife INTERNAL ANALYTICS + ESTIMATED SOCIAL EXPOSURE

Estimated Visits provide a broader reading of the artwork’s circulation across the digital ecosystem.

The concept is metaphorically inspired by quantum entanglement. Particles that once shared the same state can continue to display a profound correlation even when separated. In the same way, a photograph published on ARTFreeLife does not exist only inside the platform: through its covers, it can continue its journey across social networks, enter new communication flows and reach different audiences.

The original photograph and its “twin images” remain connected by the same editorial identity. A cover shared on social media is not treated as an isolated object, but as an extension of the photograph from which it was generated.

What happens across different digital environments therefore contributes to the broader story of the image.

How the indicator is formed

Technical visits measured on the platform through Google Analytics and through ARTFreeLife’s internal analytics systems are combined with a weighted estimate of the exposure generated by social covers.

The results are not indiscriminately added together. They are interpreted through a weighted model that considers the nature of each channel, visible interactions, time elapsed since publication and the potential of every cover to generate attention.

Directly measurable visits are placed alongside the estimated visibility of the photograph’s social extensions. This allows the work’s trajectory to continue evolving even while one of its twin images is circulating elsewhere.

Estimated Visits are not an analytical count of direct visits alone. They are an evolving indicator of the photograph’s distributed presence.

Current vitality

Momentum

Momentum offers an immediate reading of the energy developing around the image. It brings together attention, participation and the work’s ability to continue generating interest, providing a concise measure of its present vitality within the platform.

Editorial synthesis

Score

Score is the bar’s most complex editorial indicator. It is generated by the ARTFreeLife AI Agent through the analysis of real and statistical data collected across the entire life cycle of the photograph.

Comments, appreciation votes, Curator Notes, the relevance of contributions from highly active members and the visibility obtained through social covers may all contribute to its formation.

The score can evolve over time and reaches lasting stability when a photograph is published in ART Gallery. More than a simple numerical rating, it is a distinctive reference through which the system recognises, positions and accompanies the circulation of the work.

Community participation

Vote

The Vote control, accompanied by a heart and the number of appreciations received, is the bar’s most direct participatory component. It allows the community to express support and contribute to the photograph’s public history.

Editorial placement

Curated · Featured · ART Gallery

On the right, the bar displays the editorial category to which the photograph belongs. The wording changes according to the selection pathway achieved by the work and the section in which it is presented.

Curated signals inclusion within a curatorial selection. Featured highlights particular editorial relevance. ART Gallery confirms entry into the platform’s most structured exhibition pathway.

The category is therefore not a simple navigation link. It is an immediate indicator of editorial position and an integral part of the photograph’s public identity.

A dynamic identity card

The visible life of the artwork

Author, information, tools, editorial data, visibility, participation and category coexist within one compact space.

Every value should be read as an evolving indicator: a trace of the image’s life, the editorial recognition it has achieved and the relationships it continues to build over time.
