Help us choose the photographs to publish
This page presents the photographs shortlisted for the next issue of ART GALLERY. Vote for the images you wish to support and take part directly in the selection.
Please note: if you have already liked a photograph on its original page, a second vote cast here will not be counted because your vote has already been recorded.
On desktop, click a candidate photograph to open a centred, full-aspect-ratio preview. The panel beside it displays votes, valid comments, the author-by-author comment breakdown, bonuses, total score, publication likelihood and progress toward the 100% ART GALLERY threshold. On mobile and tablet, tapping the photograph opens its original page.
The percentage and dynamic threshold bar printed on every candidate photograph update when the vote and comment data are ready. While calculations are running, an animated indicator is shown. The ranking remains hidden until all required data have been processed, then the six highest-ranked photographs appear automatically.
On every device, only the VOTE button records a vote. Opening a photograph never adds a vote. If a Like was already recorded, it is recognised and is not counted twice. Votes cannot be removed from this page.
The photographs change with the current Featured selection and remain dynamic until the editorial team makes its final decision.
The editorial team will have access to all voting data. The ranking therefore represents the authors’ preferences, but it does not determine the final result on its own.
Like value: the calculation is progressive. Likes 1–15 contribute 0.90 points each, Likes 16–20 contribute 1.10 points each, and every Like from 21 onward contributes 1.20 points. Only the Likes within each band receive that band’s value, preventing retroactive score jumps.
For each photograph, every author can contribute with one valid comment only, regardless of how many comments they write. Collaborative comments contribute 0.4 points, Curator comments contribute 0.7 points, and every other author category contributes 0.3 points. Additional comments from the same author do not increase either the score or the valid-comment threshold. Comments written by the photographer on their own photograph are always excluded from every count and calculation.
Current comment values: Member: 0.30 points · Collaborative: 0.40 points · Curator: 0.70 points. Collaborative and Curator membership is refreshed from the current role directories whenever the page opens. If an author belongs to more than one recognised category, the highest applicable value is used.
When a negative editorial adjustment applies, a proportional 25% reduction is distributed across Like points and all bonus contributions, including the editorial bonus. Comment points always retain their full value. The adjustment is incorporated directly into the affected values and is never displayed as a separate statistical item.
The Like bonus is also progressive and cumulative: Likes 10–13 add 0.50 points each, Likes 14–16 add 0.70 points each, Likes 17–18 add 1.80 points each, Likes 19–25 add 1.50 points each, and every Like from 26 onward adds 1 point. Each new Like adds only the amount assigned to its own band, so the score develops continuously without artificial threshold jumps. An additional 2-point complete-participation bonus is awarded when a photograph reaches at least 17 likes and 7 unique valid comments. The initial editorial assessment adds 4 points for an outstanding assessment or 2 points for a strong assessment; only the highest applicable assessment is counted. A further 2-point user-activity contribution may be awarded independently when meaningful participation is recognised. Editorial bonuses are proportional to each photograph’s own public score: BNS1 adds 40% and BNS2 adds 20%. They therefore reward editorial merit without assigning the same fixed amount to photographs with different public results.
The publication percentage is directly proportional to the total score, without bands: 40 points correspond to 100%, and every lower score is converted using the same linear proportion. For example, 20 points correspond to 50% and 30 points correspond to 75%. Percentages are capped at 100%.
The scores, weightings and assessment criteria form a living editorial framework. They may be recalibrated dynamically as the selection evolves, responding to the quality of the works, the level of participation and the editorial priorities of the moment. Any revision will serve one purpose: preserving the authority, balance and exceptional standard of the ART GALLERY selection.
Publication in ART GALLERY takes place exclusively when the photograph reaches the 100% threshold. ART GALLERY is a prestigious gallery: the algorithm, artificial intelligence and the editorial team work together to safeguard the absolute quality of every photograph admitted to the final selection. Any percentage below 100% indicates progress only and never guarantees publication.
Admission to ART GALLERY is reserved exclusively for photographs that reach 100% and meet the combined quality judgement of the algorithm, artificial intelligence and the editorial team. This rigorous, evolving process protects the prestige and uncompromising visual standard of the gallery.
