Some landscape photographs are primarily about a place; others use the landscape as raw material for a more independent visual experience. This image clearly belongs to the latter. Sand, sky, and a modest wooden fence are reduced to essential elements, then brought together through rhythm, movement, and a compelling tension between permanence and transformation.
