Walking into the underground concourse of Malmö’s Triangeln station, I was immediately struck by the sheer, futuristic scale of the architecture. It feels less like a train station and more like a subterranean cathedral dedicated to movement. I wanted this photograph to capture that exact feeling of stepping out of the dark, industrial depths and into the light.
I waited for the frame to clear, needing a composition built on absolute, unyielding symmetry. The four escalators slice through the frame perfectly, acting as heavy structural paths that guide your eye straight up into the beautiful, web-like glass dome overhead. But what truly brought the space to life for me was the lone commuter in the bright red coat. Caught in a fleeting moment of solitude, her presence gives the massive concrete walls and steel tracks a sense of human scale.
