How the score is calculated
| Editorial signal | Value | Criterion |
|---|---|---|
| ART Gallery | 20 base points | The highest editorial value within the reduced analysis period. |
| ART Gallery Featured | 18 base points | A unique selection receives high value; if already present in ART Gallery, it receives only +3 points. |
| Featured Photos | 12 base points | Dynamic analysis influenced by author activity and the AI Agent evaluation. |
| Latest Publications | 10 base points | Rewards the most recent editorial presence within the observed window. |
| Adjustment | Range | Multiplier / bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Position | 1–5 · 6–15 · 16–30 · 31–50 · 51+ | ×1,40 · ×1,25 · ×1,10 · ×1,00 · ×0,90 |
| Freshness | 0–7 · 8–30 · 31–90 · 91–180 · over 180 days | ×1,10 · ×1,05 · ×1,00 · ×0,97 · ×0,94 |
| Momentum Featured | Positions 1–5 | +10 points |
| Momentum Latest | Positions 1–5 | +8 points |
| Duplicate rule | Gallery Featured already present in ART Gallery | +3 points |
The score combines editorial placement, section value, position, freshness, selected works and author activity. It is a proprietary dynamic index, not a complete historical archive.
Editorial manifesto
ARTFreeLife is not simply a photographic archive. It is an editorial project created to value photographic research, visual quality, author identity and active community participation.
From this vision comes the Editorial Prestige Index, or EPI: an experimental algorithm that creates a ranking of authors published on the platform.
A higher position does not mean that one author is better than another: it indicates greater editorial prestige within the analysed period and sample.
Photography remains the central value
The index does not simply reward those who publish more. When a photograph is selected and reaches more prestigious sections, its contribution to the author’s score increases.
A living system
Every new publication, editorial selection or move into a more prestigious section can change the score. When photographs leave the analysed time range, the ranking updates accordingly.
AI, Editorial Team and authors
The ARTFreeLife AI Agent processes part of the data; the Editorial Team guides selections and protects the project’s quality and identity; authors contribute through photographs, comments, likes and participation.
An experimental phase
The EPI requires observation, testing and refinement. It should be read as a stimulus and a new editorial experience, not as a definitive competition between photographers.
