"The Craiova–Calafat railway is a secondary railway in Romania . It connects Craiova and Calafat , with a length of 107 km. This is largely unelectrified and is a plain railway. It was connected to the Calafat-Vidin Bridge which is crossed in Vidin , Bulgaria .The Craiova-Calafat highway is considered the line with the most beautiful railway station buildings in the Romanian Plain . The studies for the construction of the railway began on May 10, 1885, they lasted until November, being led by the engineer Elie Radu , and the design lasted until May 1886. The construction of the railway began only in 1890''.
