Wintertime in 2010 "the Samander hole",

A photo from 2010 taken in the Netherlands on the Veluwe. I have used a different sky in this photo. The original title is "the Samander hole", the real name of this small water pond that has frozen over here and which also has a legend attached to it. The legend of the Golden Bell: fleeing from robber Norsemen, monks from Ugchelen in panic dumped the heavy golden bell from the monastery here in the Salamander hole. Because the fierce Normans killed all the monks, no one knew where the bell had gone.
